Massive Hailstorm Causes Widespread Damage to Innisfail Homes
Disasters, like everything else, do not exist in a vacuum. When one strikes, it does not mean another will not factor into the equation. Likewise, the current COVID-19 pandemic provides additional obstacles when conducting our restoration services. On July 12, a large hailstorm hit the town of Innisfail and brought extensive property damage to many homes in the community. PuroClean rushed to action inspecting properties for hail damage and helping families navigate their insurance claims.
Inspecting and Repairing the Hail Damage
Innisfail is a small town of less than 8000, located 34km south of Red Deer. The storm blew through and dumped up to 6 inches of hail on Innisfail. It blew in from the northwest causing devastating damage to roofs, smashing out vents. The siding was shredded, and paint was stripped from decks and fences.
Due to COVID-19, we were the eyes and ears for insurance adjusters. Our technicians worked late into the night to write up estimates that allowed carriers to move claims along quickly and efficiently.
With the claims processed, our reconstruction team got to work. We have finished all the repairs to the roofs in time for winter. Fences and decks are painted, and vinyl repairs have been wrapped up. However, the work is still ongoing due to the siding shortages that come with an extensive hail season.
