Engineering the Future: Championing Gravenhurst High School’s Local Robotics Talent

Although our main priority is to restore property in our community, we also like to support local, budding talent. Over the past couple of years, PuroClean of North Simcoe and Muskoka, led by owner Eric Gonneau, has developed a supportive relationship with the Gryphtech Robotics Club at Gravenhurst High School. Eric’s passion for championing the next generation of skilled trades & technicians goes beyond mentorship.

A Partnership Built on Innovation and Community Support

Our team is incredibly proud to support Gryphtech Robotics, a team of Gravenhurst High School students dedicated to furthering STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) through real life problem solving. We’re not just helping financially—we’re deeply invested in the team’s progress. With our encouragement, they’ve pushed the boundaries of what they can achieve while establishing a unique bond with our business.

We’ve supplied the team with items they need to work and innovate, from loaning high-power laptops to refurbishing their trailer. Additionally, they also received a television, professional logos for the trailer, and floor mats. As a professional engineer, Eric has also spent countless hours mentoring these young minds to hone their skills. Our commitment to supporting the brilliant team has paid off: their pride in their accomplishments is always evident.

Competing with Pride and Ambition

Recently, the Gryphtech Robotics team competed at a provincial competition in Toronto during the first weekend of April 2024. Their performance showed how hard they’ve worked, how they think innovatively, and how well they collaborate. Even with tough competition, the students showed how much they’ve improved and what they can achieve. Witnessing the students’ growth and engineering feats is truly an honour.
