On December 23, 2022, a business owner in Nanaimo, BC, called us to request fire damage restoration after an overnight blaze at their fast food restaurant. The fire caused heavy smoke in the interior and severe damage to the exterior of the building.

When our certified technicians arrived at the scene, we realized the extent of the damage was worse than we had anticipated. The entire structure had been severely compromised, with the damage reaching as high as 20 feet, creating a challenge for our crew to insulate and contain the property.

Along with the restoration challenge, the weather wasn’t on our side. The icy rain, wind, and freezing temperatures created a sense of urgency to restore the property to its pre-loss condition before conditions worsened.

Then, we used our professional PuroClean equipment to sanitize all affected areas. We utilized our air scrubber with a charcoal filter and ionizer to circulate and clean the air since a lot of smoke lingered in the restaurant.

Fortunately, patrons could eat in the indoor dining area comfortably by mid-afternoon once the smoke cleared. We attempted to do as much of our work as possible, but as the light began to fade and the temperature dropped, our crew completed our work and left the rest for the following day.

When we returned the next morning, we resumed our work. The building manager was extremely pleased with the finished restoration. Kudos to our fantastic team for their tremendous effort during a very cold holiday season!
